What is it Going to Look Like?

The main difference that will be noticeable in the auditorium itself is the position of the seating in the stalls, dress and upper circles.

The stalls will have a significant rake therefore improving the sightlines

The seats are being rearranged so that:

1. The stalls will no longer have a centre aisle but two aisles either side
2. The aisles in the dress and upper circles are being moved to where the pillar restrictions are, therefore enabled more seats to be pillar free

If you have ever sat in the Theatre Royal you will know how cramped, stuffy and generally uncomfortable it can be.

Our main aim is to make the auditorium comfortable and fit for purpose for a 21st century audience whilst maintaining the beautiful historic fabric of the Georgian auditorium and keeping it’s original look ‘untouched’.
